A Commercial and Residential Underwriting Counsel supports our network of agents throughout Virginia with underwriting support within prescribed guidelines.  This position also offers such support to other Departments within the Company outside of Virginia.  

Essential Functions:

• Regular consistent attendance is required.
• Ability to work a specified schedule; flexible work hours are available.
• Must be personable, positive and a professional representative of the Company.
• Ability to accept supervision.
• Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email and phone.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of commercial and residential real estate documents, title insurance, and escrow functions.
• Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle large volumes of work with tight deadlines.
• Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar.

Physical/Mental Demands:

• Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.
